SOT 101–Training in St. Petersburg, FL

Follow–Up:

We want to extend an NCPRS “Thank You” to MAJ Shawn Fulker and his National Guard crew at St. Petersburg’s Multijurisdictional Counterdrug Task Force Training program (MCTFT).  Their efforts made the first Florida SOT 101 Training at the new location a resounding success.

The National Guard sent representatives from many different states including a group of three all the way from Alaska. The class enjoyed 3½ days of training which imparted the knowledge and tools needed to certify additional NG personnel, middle school teachers, and volunteers to facilitate the SOT program in middle schools in 48 participating states.

Participants were able to present actual lessons in front of their peers so they were exposed to many different presentation styles, and were introduced to all of SOT’s lessons.

Upon SOT 101 completion and satisfactory test scores, the participants were certified to implement the SOT curriculum and administer the program in their respective states.

We are looking forward to the upcoming SOT 101 Training scheduled for April 2009 in St. Petersburg, FL. The goal is to have real classrooms available for participants to present a day of lessons in front of local middle school students.  Training is limited to the first 30 participants, so make sure you secure your seat now, since this one will fill up quickly!
