John Kiers, III, CFA is a Vice President and Senior Investment Counselor.  He has 23 years of experience in the Bank trust investment area and the investment counsel industries. His primary responsibilities include client services. John graduated from the University of North Carolina.  He attended the University of North Carolina on an NROTC scholarship and served four years as an officer in the US Navy. He received the Chartered Financial Analyst designation from the Association for Investment Management and Research in 1990.  In addition to his duties at Old Dominion, John owns and operates a farm in the Shenandoah Valley with one of the largest vineyards in area and supplies fruit to a number of wineries.  He also owns a real estate holding company focusing on historic commercial buildings.  John is married and has four daughters.
