24th Annual PRI Show and Banquet

PRI 2011 Event

Dear RAD Spokespersons, Advocates, and Friends,

Words can't express my gratitude for the hard work of our volunteers at the 24th annual PRI Trade Show this year.  The wonderful folks of PRI provided us with even more space than we’ve used in the past, which allowed our friends from Onderko Motorsports enough space to display their RAD show car. (which they hauled all the way down from PA just for us!)  The booth looked incredibly professional thanks to the addition of beautiful new custom pitbox, donated by Ricky Sanders
of Pitboxes.com, who we can’t thank enough. We knew when we were setting up before the show that this would be our best year ever…

Our booth was buzzing each and every day with folks interested in learning more, participating in our ButlerBuilt fundraiser (that was a HUGE success but the way), and taking applications and informational partnership brochures.  Because of wonderful folks like Marisa, Justin and Mike
Onderko, Zoe and Joe Mattis, Michael and Michelle Coleman, Randy Moore, Andrew, Justin, Sean and Stuart Hamilton, Ricky Sanders, Jeremy Petty, Jared Holland, Lance Moss, Jeff McCall, Mike Dimand and so many more, we were able to leave the booth in GREAT hands and venture out to other areas of the convention center.  Your assistance allowed Jenni, Gail, and me the time to talk with current and potential partners and get the word out about what RAD is doing in our communities. Again, thank you!

We’d also like to extend a thank you to Miss Florida Sunshine Lauren Chase.  Lauren did an incredible job of representing RAD as she kicked off the Red Bull Karting Race by singing the
national anthem.  HATS OFF to Lauren and the other lovely ladies who did an OUTSTANDING job of collecting donations for the ButlerBuilt raffle.  Lauren, Elissa Nadaskay, Ashely Jenson, Marisa Chase, and Taylor Bieker, had an exhausting but successful three days at PRI!  The girls added a charm and touch of class that radiated throughout the halls of the convention center.

Also, I would like to thank the Explorer Honor Guard and Deputy Jim Cole with the Orange County Sheriff’s Department for their Presentation of the Colors alongside Lauren.  It was an honor to meet you and I hope you will consider joining us again next year!

Many new contacts were made, several from the connections you passed on to me while you were out there mingling with likeminded businesses.  I will keep you all posted on new relationships.  These connections only help us get stronger and that much closer to becoming a household name.  I am looking for great things in 2012 and am certain that the energy I witnessed last weekend will shine through in all of your efforts!

If you were not able to be at PRI this year, consider coming next year and let me know well in advance.  If you have ideas for fundraising activities that might help offset the cost of travel for the event, please bring those to my attention, as well.

The First Annual RAD Banquet was wonderful and served many purposes. The main one being that all of you had a chance to meet each other, talk, and share stories of how you got involved with RAD, what you have been able to do, challenges you may have had, and of course the successes of reaching children in need of our message.  There is not a doubt in my mind that we are making a difference in the lives of children all over the country.  I want to thank everyone who made it to the banquet.  As your pit crew, we were pleased that we were able to enjoy a meal and quality time with friends Friday night. We want to make this banquet bigger and better each year going forward,
so please feel free to offer ideas or suggestions for sponsors!

Getting to PRI and making certain it is a valuable venture for the program is tough.  We rely on many donations, partnerships, volunteers from all over, and the staff at PRI to make it a success.  We could not do what we do without these priceless relationships and I do not take that for granted.  I count each of you among mymany blessings!

Look for a special edition of the Pit Stop Newsletter full of photos next week!  Once again, from all of us here at RAD, a heartfelt “Thank you” and wishes for a very merry Christmas and a prosperous and happy New Year!

Sharon Clarke, Jenni Cook,  Gail Sneed and all of us at NCPRS, we thank you all.

New RAD Racing Sponsor!

PITBOXES.COM Becomes
RAD Racing Team’s First 2011
“FLAT OUT” Donation Sponsor

Pit Boxes, RAD Racing Sponsor

On July 26, 2011 Pitboxes.com owner and racer Ricky Sanders made the generous contribution to NCPRS of a custom-made Pit Box valued at more than $5000.00.  The box is being customized to meet the RAD Racing Team’s needs so that it holds drug prevention materials and display items used at trade shows and community events to help keep youth drug free and in school.

The RAD Racing Team and Race Against Drugs are programs of the National Center for Prevention and Research Solutions (NCPRS) a 501(c) 3 not for profit charity located in Daytona Beach, Florida.  NCPRS focuses on helping youth and families across the country make healthy choices like staying drug free and getting a good education.

With 21 ARCA, 1 NASCAR Nationwide, and 27 Camping World Truck Series starts, Sanders knows the importance of keeping a clear head and making good decisions.  He is a natural fit with the RAD Racing team theme and has become one of its newest spokespersons.

While watching the RAD Racing Team staff disassemble and load their tradeshow display following the Performance Racing Industry (PRI) tradeshow in 2010, Sanders watched as the display blew a tire and collapsed.  As a forklift loaded the damaged display into the trailer, he made a decision to help by providing a new pit box for the 2011 season.

NCPRS and the RAD Racing Team take delivery of this awesome new piece of equipment at the 24th annual PRI tradeshow in Orlando, Florida later this year.
