About Me:

I am a native of Virginia and currently reside in Bristol, VA with my husband of 15 years, Jeff, 9 year old daughter Eden, a Boxer named “Lilly”, Tabby named “Pumpkin Little”, a rat named "Templeton", and several fresh water fish.

I graduated from Virginia Intermont College with a degree in Early Childhood Education. I taught Kindergarten in Melbourne Florida, and quickly realized I needed further education to better serve my mainstreamed special need students. I earned my masters degree at East Tennessee University in Special Education and was pleased to be invited to join the Phi Kappa Phi honor society.

After teaching for seven years in Bristol, VA and Charleston, SC, I decided to focus on curriculum writing for the National Center for Prevention and Research Solutions (NCPRS).  I co-authored several series of the Stay on Track (SOT) activity books and assisted in the development of the sixth through eighth grade SOT curriculum.

I worked with the National Crime Prevention Council as a consultant, teaching in forums focused on community awareness, use of available resources, and the team building skills needed to strengthen communities.

I directed several of NCPRS’s projects, including Race Against Drugs, Operation Fire Safe, and was Program Manager for Stay on Track, providing technical assistance and training for National Guard Drug Demand Reduction personnel in the  original 11 pilot states.

As the program grew, I accepted the position of Director of Community Outreach (DCO). I assisted all participating states with obtaining additional funding and opportunities to draw media attention to each states success. At present I have combined DCO and Program Management duties, as well as managing our current  RAD Racing Team Spokespersons.

I have been with NCPRS for 10 years now. I could not be more pleased to be a part of this organization and its programs. My job is more than just a job, it is my pride, my conviction, and my passion. Everyone at NCPRS is dedicated to our missions and I consider myself blessed to have made many new friendships with our clients share the same outlook on life!
